Logan Sharp has been selected Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Performer of the Week for the period of Dec. 5-11.
The 6-foot-9 Sharp was a dominant presence in the paint, averaging 12.5 points and 13.0 rebounds while shooting 61.1 percent (11-of-18) from the field during Cornell's 2-0 week. The Rams defeated league foes Grinnell, 100-78, and Beloit, 66-60.
Sharp posted a monster double-double with 19 points and 20 rebounds in Wednesday's home rout of Grinnell. His 20 rebounds broke the program's single-game record of 19, set by Bryan Goldsmith against Clarke on Dec. 7, 2002.
Sharp totaled 26 rebounds for the week, including 10 offensive.
Sharp ranks second in the MWC in field goal percentage (58.5) and rebounds (8.7 rpg). He's averaging 8.7 points on the season.
The Rams (3-6 overall, 2-2 MWC) are back in action Wednesday with a 7:30 p.m. home game against rival Coe (4-5) inside the Small Athletic and Wellness Center.
