Rams to play first softball games on new field March 20 vs. Eureka

MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's softball team will play its long-awaited home opener at Van Metre Family Softball Field this weekend, 10 days sooner than expected.
 
The Rams have added a nonconference doubleheader against Eureka Sunday at their new all-turf facility in Mount Vernon. First pitch is 1 p.m.
 
Sunday will mark Cornell's first home games since April 28 of the 2019 season, due to the pandemic and field construction the past two years.
 
The Rams (0-11) are coming off a nine-game spring break trip in Clermont, Fla from March 4-9. Eureka enters at 1-4 overall.
