REDLANDS, Calif. – Freshman Isaak Hutchings represented Cornell's track & field program at the Redlands Final Qualifier Thursday night in southern California.

Hutchings competed in the 800-meter run, placing 10th in a fast 17-man field. The Norco, Calif., native turned in a time of 1:57.29. Tim Corvese (unattached) won the race in 1:51.18.

Hutchings captured the Midwest Conference title in the 800 last weekend, posting the sixth-fastest time in school history (1:55.91). He also claimed MWC gold in the 1500.

The 2022 MWC Men's Most Outstanding Newcomer for the outdoor season, Hutchings closed an extraordinary first year with the Rams as a four-time MWC champion on the track (indoors and outdoors), while adding an all-conference 11th-place showing in cross country.

Earlier this month, Hutching was named Cornell's First-Year Male Athlete of the Year.
