MOUNT VERNON – Cornell College has announced Trinity Tisue McWilliams '00 (women's soccer/track & field), Eric Kulbe '00 (baseball/football) and Dave Adkins '62 (men's basketball) as members of its 2022 Athletics Hall of Fame Class, to be enshrined this fall.
The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held over Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 22, in conjunction with the Alumni 'C' Club Breakfast. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Smith Dining Room of the Thomas Commons. Doors open at 8 a.m.
The new inductees will also be recognized at halftime of the Oct. 22 football game against Monmouth at Van Metre Field at Ash Park. Kickoff is 2 p.m.
McWilliams, a two-time first team all-Iowa Conference soccer midfielder, still holds Cornell records for most points (135) and goals (54) scored in a career. She piloted the Rams to their first winning season in 1997, followed by a program-best 15-5 mark in 1998, during which Cornell appeared in the region's Top 10 rankings for the first time. McWilliams also excelled on the track as a former school-record holder in the 600-meter run and 4x800 relay.
Kulbe is Cornell's all-time leader in stolen bases with 143, which ranks ninth-most in NCAA Division III history. The two-time all-conference outfielder led Division III in steals during the 1998 and 2000 seasons, and at one point swiped 46 consecutive bags. Kulbe, who signed a professional baseball contract with the San Diego Padres, also earned four varsity letters in football and captained the 1999 team. He registered 154 career tackles as a defensive back.
Adkins is among Cornell's career scoring leaders with 1,112 points in only three varsity seasons. The first team all-Midwest Conference forward netted 21.3 points per game during the 1960-61 MWC championship campaign, guiding the Rams (18-6) to a program record for wins and a third-place finish at the NCAA College Division Regional, where he led the tournament field in scoring. Adkins went on to enjoy a successful 25-year career in overseas basketball as a player, coach, administrator and agent.
