Rams crown three individual champions at Dubuque Invite

DUBUQUE – Cornell's men's wrestling team crowned three individual champions and 18 total placewinners Saturday at the University of Dubuque Invitational.
 
Sophomore Eli Sneed (133 pounds), sophomore Austin Wilkins (174) and freshman Brandon Bray (285) captured titles in their respective weight classes at the non-scored tournament.
 
Sneed earned a pair of decisions, including a 4-1 sudden victory over Chicago's Jackson Rustad in his championship match.
 
Wilkins dominated his bracket without surrendering a point, recording technical falls of 15-0 and 17-0. He defeated Dubuque's Thomas Hansen in the final.
 
Bray finished 3-0 with a pin and two decisions at heavyweight. He edged Dubuque's Franco Fontela, 3-2, in the championship bout.
 
The Rams received a runner-up showing from freshman AJ Parrish at 141. Gage Sweckard (157), Scotty Scheidecker (165), Brian Petry (174), Drew Deer (184) and Nick Demunno (197) all finished third.
