DUBUQUE – Cornell's softball team gave away five unearned runs in Wednesday's 9-1 five-inning setback to American Rivers Conference foe Dubuque.
Sophomore
Monet Roelle doubled home
Peyton Souhrada for Cornell's lone run of the contest in the top of the second, pulling the Rams (2-5) within 3-1.
The Spartans (6-7) pushed the lead to 5-1 through three innings and scored four times in the fifth to finish the game.
Miranda Keith and
Lilly Dierkes each had a single for the Rams, who were held to three hits.
First-year pitcher
Lexi Ellermeier allowed 10 hits and four earned runs over 4.1 innings. Dubuque capitalized on four Cornell errors in the field.
