ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Cornell sophomore
Lidia Dahlman turned in a lifetime-best 6K time Saturday against top competition in the Gold Division at Augustana's Interregional Invitational on Saukie Golf Course.
Dahlman covered the course in 22:31 and placed 29th out of 349 total finishers in her final tune-up before the Midwest Conference Championships. She held strong against a deep field that featured 12 nationally-ranked teams.
Cornell finished 25th out of 40 teams with 701 points. The Midwest Region's No. 7 Rams were among 25 regionally-ranked programs in the race, won by No. 6 nationally-rated UW-La Crosse with 88 points. Trine took runner-up in the team standings with 108 points.
Senior
Mackenzie Engbert was the second Ram to finish, placing 98th in 23:23.
Alyza Koppes crossed 176th in 24:12,
Ava Claussen-Tubbs took 199th (24:23) and
Carley Seeley 275th (25:21) to complete Cornell's scoring five.
Zoe Peesel and
Sophie Stumbo both ran 25:50 and finished 303rd and 304th, respectively.
Jules Bleskoski of RPI ran away with the individual title in 20:47, nearly one full minute ahead of runner-up Sidney Swick of Trine.
Coming up – Cornell hosts the Midwest Conference Championships Nov. 1 at Seminole Valley Park in Cedar Rapids. The women's 6K race starts at 12 p.m.
