WAVERLY – The Rams tuned up for next week's Midwest Conference Championships against some tough competition at the Liz Wuertz Invitational, hosted by Wartburg.
Ava Claussen-Tubbs turned in a stellar performance in the 800-meters, breaking her own school record with a time of 2:17.21. She surpassed her previous record by .55 seconds, set in December.
Lidia Dahlman finished sixth for the Cornell women in the mile (5:25.90).
Cornell men were led by
Jensen Meeker finishing second in the 400-meters (49.89) and
Gabe Soda finishing third in the mile (4:18.40).
Hadley Beaty finished fourth in the 200 meters (22.66). Rams had two fifth places finishes,
Gabe Hunt in the mile (4:22.79) and
Brody Williams with a weight throw of 52-3 ¼.
Michael Bahu finished sixth in both the weight throw (51-4 ¼) and shot put (43- ¼).
Coming up – Cornell competes at the MWC Championships Feb. 28 – March 1 in Monmouth, IL. Action gets underway at 1 p.m. Friday.
