| By:
APPLETON, Wis. – Cornell's women's track & field team crowned three individual champions and had seven all-conference performances on Saturday's final day of the Midwest Conference Outdoor Championships at Whiting Field.

Hailey Carolan won the high jump for the third consecutive year, clearing a season-best 5 feet, 6.50 inches. The junior remained undefeated in six MWC high jump competitions (indoor and outdoor) and captured her eighth career gold medal.

Carolan earned all-MWC honors in the 100 hurdles (15.58) and 400 hurdles (1:07.09), placing third in both events. She's now an 18-time all-conference performer with one year still to go.

It was also a banner-filled weekend for junior Ava Claussen-Tubbs, who claimed her third straight outdoor title in the 800. Claussen-Tubbs crossed the finish in 2:14.10, more than one second ahead of runner-up Hannah Roark of Grinnell.

Claussen-Tubbs, who won Friday's 1500, raised her career gold medal count to eight.

Sophomore Willow Ziegler made history in the 400 with a personal-best winning time of 58.99. She became Cornell's first 400-meter outdoor champion since 1982 (Michaela Crowley). Ziegler was also the MWC indoor champion in the event.

First-year Lidia Dahlman was runner-up in the 5000 with a lifetime-best mark of 18:03.59. Junior teammate Alyza Koppes took fourth (18:25.59) in the race.

Senior Bri Osterson took second place in the javelin (124-11) for the second year in a row. Robyn Mar came in eighth (97-7). Osterson added a fifth-place showing in the shot put (38-11.75).

Claussen-Tubbs anchored the 4x400 relay of Ziegler, Carolan and Alexa Hugart to fourth place in 4:07.97. The 4x100 relay of Olivia Cotton, Ziegler, Hugart and anchor Sia Bear finished sixth (51.52).

The Rams received eighth-place finishes from Maya Hodge in the triple jump (31-10.75) and Carley Seeley in the 3000 steeplechase (12:15.81).

Cornell totaled 98 points over the two-day competition for fifth place in the final team standings. Illinois College posted a winning score of 139 points.
