Aurora shoots way past Cornell, 25-3

MOUNT VERNON Cornell's men's lacrosse squad fell to four-time defending conference champion Aurora University Wednesday night, 25-3, at Ash Park Stadium.

The Spartans got out to a quick start with Jason Koziol getting the scoring started one minute into the first period. That kicked off a 20-0 scoring run for Aurora until halfway through the third quarter.

Jack Bilenduke (SO/Frisco, Colo.) ended the possibility of a shut out with a goal of his own. Conor Hollowell (JR/Portland, Ore.) and A.J. Fisher (JR/Elgin, Ill.) added their own goals in the fourth quarter. Fisher's came from an assist by Evan Bush (FR/Prior Lake, Minn.).

Aurora's high-powered offense was led by Bailey Smith and Koziol, with each netting six goals, all in the first half.

The conference leaders were not affected by the cold, windy conditions at Ash Park, completing 15-of-20 clear attempts, and scooping up sixty ground balls.

Siguenza, who ranks seventh nationally in ground balls per game led the Rams with six on the night. Brodie Vieweg (SO/Rancho Palos Verdes) pitched in five. Hollowell attempted a game-high 11 shots in the match.

Evan Kedjidjian (JR/Deerfield, Ill.) (4-4) and Ben Totman (JR/Geneva, Ill.) split the game in Rams net, collecting three and seven saves respectively.

Coming up – The Rams are back on the road Saturday, traveling to Chicago to take on conference foe Concordia (0-6 overall, 0-1 MLC) at 3 p.m.
