Kyle Jussila netted six goals and sophomore goalie 
Thomas Cook notched his first collegiate win in Cornell's 12-8 season-opening men's lacrosse triumph over Centenary Saturday.
 
The Rams (1-0) overcame a 3-1 deficit after one period, breaking away with eight goals over the next two quarters to secure the road win.
 
Jussila didn't miss a beat from his record-setting 2022 campaign, totaling nine points in the game with three assists. 
Luke Baldwin accounted for three goals and two assists. His seven ground balls tied 
Torii Greiskalns for team-high honors.
 
Jack Barton scored twice, while 
Warren Wiberg also had a goal. 
Rory MacLean dished two assists in his Cornell debut.
 
Cook worked all 60 minutes at the net, posting 17 saves. 
Brandon Warnke had seven face-off wins.
 
Coming up – Cornell takes on Illinois Tech (0-0) in Saturday's home opener at 3 p.m. at Van Metre Field at Ash Park.
