Rams fall 6-3 to MUW at Lookout Mountain, Ga.

Box Score LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – A few miscues proved costly for Cornell's baseball team in Friday's 6-3 neutral-site loss to Mississippi University for Women.
 
Cornell's road game with Covenant Friday afternoon was canceled due to rain/fog and will not be rescheduled.
 
The Rams (3-2) gave away five unearned runs against MUW (6-3), including three in the sixth inning when their opponent broke a 3-3 tie.
 
Starting pitcher Lucas Brutsche (1-1) gave the Rams a quality start, allowing one earned run over 5.2 innings. Grant Morris fired 2.1 scoreless innings in relief.
 
Junior Sean Alvarez belted a two-run homer in the third that gave the Rams a 3-1 lead. Vince Zipperer went 2-for-4 and Esteban had a double for Cornell, which was outhit 10-7.
 
MUW capitalized on Cornell's third error of the game in the bottom of the sixth, which led to a two-run go-ahead double with two outs.  
 
Coming up – The Rams head to Auburndale, Fla., Sunday for an 8:45 a.m. (central time) doubleheader against St. Norbert.
