Toledo, Burmeister honored on All-MWC Men's Soccer Team

| By:
MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's Justice Toledo and Sam Burmeister have been selected to the 2025 All-Midwest Conference Men's Soccer Teams, as announced Thursday by the MWC office.

Toledo earned a spot on the All-MWC First Team at attacker. Burmeister was a second team choice at defender.

Toledo's place on the top unit marks the fifth consecutive season coach Nate Grosse's Rams have fielded a first team all-conference performer.

Toledo emerged as one of the league's top scoring threats in his second year as a full-time starter. He ranked second in the MWC in goals (9), points (20) and game-winning goals (4). Toledo's 19 shots on goal were seventh-most in the conference.

Toledo converted 4-of-5 penalty kicks and also distributed two assists. He recorded multi-goal matches against Augustana, Grinnell and North Central, all Cornell wins.

Burmeister was once again a staple on Cornell's stingy defense, which allowed only seven goals in eight MWC matches, second-fewest in the league. The Rams recorded four shutout wins, three in MWC play.

With 17 starts this fall, Burmeister has now started all 52 matches he's played since arriving on the Hilltop in 2023. He contributed one goal this season.

The Rams finished the campaign at 7-9-1 overall and tied for fourth in the MWC race at 4-3-1.
