Box Score THOUSAND OAKS, CA – Cornell baseball team opened their spring break trip Friday with the first of three games against #28 California Lutheran. The Rams were in a pitcher's duel through six innings, before falling 10-0 to the Kingsman at Ullman Stadium.
Senior pitcher
Vince Tinajero was masterful for the Rams, holding the Kingsman (8-2) scoreless through the fourth inning. Tinajero threw 6.2 innings, giving up three earned runs on only four hits.
Cornell (3-2) played strong defensively throughout the game holding Cal Lutheran to one run through the sixth. The Kingman's bats heated up late in the game scoring nine runs over the last two at bats. The Rams defense had only one error for the game.
The Rams finished the game with eight hits, led by
Cade Parks and
Kale Rose with two hits apiece.
Ryan Weaver,
Vince Zipperer,
Zach Garton and
Brendan Alvarez each had one hit.
Cornell had runners reach base every inning except the second and sixth, stranding nine runners for the game.
