Cornell tennis lands 6 ITA Scholar-Athletes, named Academic Team

| By:
MOUNT VERNON – Coach Trent Schneider's Cornell tennis teams have been recognized for academic excellence by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for the 2023-24 seasons.

Cornell's women and men were both selected as an NCAA Division III All-Academic Team. The Rams earned the award by achieving a team grade point average of at least 3.2 over the past academic year. All letterwinners factored into the team GPA.

The Rams were among 167 women's teams honored. There were 129 men's programs cited.

Graduated seniors Ashley Mink, Makayla Johnson and sophomore Ashley Drake represented Cornell's women as ITA Scholar-Athletes. Mink and Johnson are four-time honorees, while Drake was selected for the second consecutive year.

Cornell's men also fielded three ITA Scholar-Athletes in senior Alexander Hadler-Strumlauf, junior Edwin Holyoake and freshman Trent Devore. Holyoake earned the distinction for the third year in a row.

ITA Scholar-Athletes must be listed on the institutional eligibility list and have maintained at least a 3.5 GPA during the past academic year.
